I finally listened to this whilst on a run, which is when I often listen to such podcasts. The only downside was not being able to make notes!

There were so many points which caught my ear. I love the way you connect things and use detailed examples to make it all the more real. Early sections reminded me of Steve Peters’ The Chimp Paradox. The idea of polypsychism or splinter personalities is fascinating. We often talk about individual differences, which is really shorthand for interindividual differences. You were talking about intraindividual differences, which is so interesting.

I like your lighthouse metaphor at the beach and the idea of global vs local processing. But you could take the lighthouse metaphor further: its beam of light sweeps round illuminating different selves one after another, and it’s the act of writing down and challenging each self’s thoughts that illuminates it all.

In the end, working with our natures as opposed to against them is so powerful. It links to the acceptance aspects of ACT you talked about in your last blog.

Very long comment: sorry! But so much I wanted to say and reflect on. 🙏

I've not yet had a chance to read/listen to this, but just reading the tagline "I want to and don't want to" makes me think you can see right into what makes me tick. That is SO true for me, and not just for exercise, but everything. Really looking forward to reading this, Chloe!
